Good Morning you autumnal lovelies.
This month’s newsletter is going to be quite brief, because my brain is currently oozing out of my ears.
For the first time in 2 1/2 years, I’ve started working on a new book - and you really do forget what an absolute (Liza stares off into the middle distance trying to think of the perfect word - realizes there isn’t one) OKAY - it’s this blend of excitement when you feel that SUBLIME CLICK combined with unhinged panic at not being able to hold ON to the idea like it’s going to run off in the middle of the night, and then you add a nice dash of this sinking doubt of “dear lord, why would anyone be interested in this?” all wrapped up in this existential game of chicken of “how long can I sit in this chair without producing one single word?” (answer: seven hours)
But, I’m happiest when I’m writing. I’m grateful to be at my desk again and spending my days with a new cast of characters. It really is quite magical… if not endlessly humbling.
I hope everyone is safe and sound and congratulations to the WGA for their hard work in securing a tentative agreement just yesterday with the AMPTP. Fingers crossed for ratification and next up: SAG/AFTRA.
Union Strong!

The entire reason I made sure to do this newsletter this month, was to yell from the mountain tops to go listen to Cleo Sol’s new album, Heaven. It’s TRULY PERFECT for hazy autumnal mornings. Just absolute brilliance.
Also, Chappell Roan has a new album out called The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and it is Pop Perfection.
Also? Zach Bryan’s new album is pretty great. I got pulled in with THIS track and I’ve been kind of obsessed every since.
I really love THIS GUY’S music suggestions, and he started his own YouTube channel and it’s really lovely - HERE is an example of what you can expect.
🤝
Follow Chioma Nnadi as she was just named the new Head of Editorial Content for British Vogue.
Follow RaeShanda Lias-Lockhart for too many reasons - she’s one of my favorite follows ever.
Follow Bada Lee for all things dance and choreography.

I’ve got no new food and beverage suggestions this month, because when I’m writing I eat the same 5 things. BUT, I have some exciting dinner plans in October (after my deadline) that I can’t wait to tell you about.

Okay, look. I know this is not something I should be excited about - but buying THIS has made me endlessly happy. All my vitamins look so cute.
I went back to my diffuser and essential oils - and I bought this triptych of fall scents - and they’re LOVELY. My favorite is the Fireside Chai - it’s very clovey, so govern yourselves accordingly.
I have ridiculously sensitive skin - so when I say that THIS moisturizer is wonderful - it’s a friggin miracle. And really all of their products have never done me wrong. I also like their SOAPS.
I’ve become obsessed with THIS store, and have started buying the paper and office supplies of my kid dreams.
Thanks for the reminder of Echo and the Bunnymen. I haven't listened to them in *years*. Best of luck on the book writing!
Very excited to hear about the new book 🥰
