"I will stay with you."
Good morning, you brilliant incredibles.
I was on the phone with my internet provider after losing signal again and I was given the task of restarting whatever piece of technology we were talking about. I asked if she would stay on the line as I did this and she responded simply, “I will stay with you.” And I … phew, I got choked up? I think I’ve been yearning to hear that exact sentiment on such global, unknowable levels, that hearing it on such a small one comforted me in a way I didn’t even know I needed.
So, for those who need to hear it, “I will stay with you.”
Each Monday morning, I’ll gather:

This replay of Andrea Bocelli doing a live solo Easter performance from the Duomo is breathtaking.

Song Exploder is one of my favorite podcasts. The podcast consists of short episodes “where musicians take apart their songs, and piece by piece, tell the story of how they were made.” Any episode is incredible, but Brittany Howard, Hozier, Yo-Yo Ma, Fleetwood Mac and Ludwig Göransson talking about the Black Panther score are great places to start.
Idle time not proving good for your head? The Library of Congress launched By the People in 2018. It’s a project where you can volunteer to help transcribe historical documents from several different projects.
I absolutely loved Robert Galbraith’s*, Cormoran Strike novels and the adaptations are very good and worth seeking out if you can find em. (*Galbraith has been revealed to be JK Rowling. )

The truly baffling ebbs and flows of my ability to be productive has been a source of … ongoing confusion. In the beginning, I used the Pomodoro Method, but that stopped being effective as I realized I was just timing myself staring off into the middle distance. New plan: Pomodoro Method + daily lists of the tasks I need/want to do. And I’m talking - BASIC shit gets added to these lists. Each email I need to reply to has its own box. And I’ve scrapped the little pads of paper (that got inevitably lost) and now keep all my lists in an old journal I found, migrating the tasks I didn’t complete just like bullet journaling taught me. It’s been working for the last week. 🤞🏻
I love ginger, I love tea and I love Maangchi. Here’s her recipe for Saenggangcha. I made this and it was able to settle my stomach as well as being perfect for nighttime. (thank you to Annie for bringing Maangchi into my life.)
